A new update for Life is Life

I finished now reading about Hook Worms, which include Ancylostoma duednale (present in Iraq), & Necator americans (present in middle & south of America). I had read in the book that's there are 900 million people around the world is infected with this blood-sucker worm which inhabit at the small intestine, & it's estimated that they are conuming 7 million liters of blood every day. Therefore, I intended to ask those Vampires to give Iraq some Liters of blood & contributing in solving of the Blood Deficiency Problem :) as these worms are much better in my mind than Arab countries, which sent terrorist to kill Iraqis, & wasting their blood. In addition, it's important to mention that one of the most famous Arab singers named "Abd Al-Haleem Hafith" had Hook Worm but he didn't die because of it. In addition, I will tell u about some of sign & symptoms of Hook worm infection: Black tarry stool (due to blood), anemia & anasarca (generalized edema).

I should say that writing a medical post is boring to some but it's very useful me to memorize information & thank u for ur patience to read such a post but plz try to forgive me :)

It's not boring, Dr. Saif. I think the term "Necator americans" might come in handy when talking to trolls on my favorite Iraqi blogs, for one thing. LOL!! And besides, I think you pick the most interesting facts to tell us. It's obvious you are very interested in what you are studying.

Did you do anything to celebrate the fall of the Saddam Hussein regime today? It was two years ago. Hard to imagine. A lot has been accomplished since then.

Are you kidding? It's fascinating if a bit freaky.

Did you get my email Dr. Humanity? The neighborhood kids are anxious to get their little package off to you.

Thanks hon. Study hard and take good care.

Frankly, I don't find it boring either. It's interesting to hear how things are the same yet different.

Brings us all closer.

Tell me, if you can, there are reports of a very strong bacterial infection the soldiers are bringing back in their wounds. Do you have the same problems in Iraq natives or are they largely immune and present as basic infections?

The information is limited, but, if I understand correctly, it may be in the soil and it can cause even the simplest wounds to become suporous and gangrenous.

Those hookworms have got nothing on the American IRS when it comes to sucking blood and life from a population (it's tax time over here :)

Such things are far from boring when phrased the way you do. Keep studying and throw little tidbits of it our way.

I have never lived in the area of the US known as the 'South.' (I was born in the city of Los Angeles. The latitude of LA is south of that of most of the 'South,' but LA is thousands of kilometers from the 'South.')

I have read, however, that the hookworm played a signicant role in the South as recently as the 1920s. The worm would invade children who were walking barefoot on the soil. The percentage of Southerners who had hookworm was substantial. The damaging effects of the parasite supposedly played a role in a stereotype of Southerners as slow and lazy.

I think that the Rockefeller Foundation (a medical charity created by the wealthy oil businessman, John D. Rockefeller, around 1900) played a major role in almost eliminating the syndrome from the South. I do not recall the techniques, but education of the Southern public about the problem played a role.

Advertising can be a big problem otherwise. A lot of companies reserve a big chunk of their budgets to cover marketing expenditures.
